What it is
CJC-1295 without DAC is a synthetic analogue of the first twenty-nine amino acids of GHRH, the hormone that triggers growth-hormone release. "Without DAC" means it lacks the group that, in the other version, extends its presence in the blood.
Why it is studied
GHRH acts on a specific pituitary receptor. A short analogue makes it possible to study that pathway without reproducing the duration of action of the whole hormone.

Human data
A randomised, double-blind, placebo-controlled trial published in 2006 in the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism measured, in healthy adults, GH elevations of 2- to 10-fold and IGF-1 elevations of 1.5- to 3-fold, lasting 9 to 11 days after a single dose. These are hormonal markers measured in healthy volunteers — not a demonstrated clinical benefit.
